Sakurai Masahiro, director of Super Smash Bros., tweeted a teaser last night of a little witch that we all know and love from WarioWare, Ashley. Along with the image, he tweeted, “Pic of the day. Who’s the girl next door, living in the haunted mansion? You’d better learn my name because it’s…” Of course, we all get her theme song stuck in our head the moment we see the picture.
It is said that she is not a playable character, but rather an Assist Trophy. Yes, fans all know what Assist Trophies are, but for those who will be jumping into the franchise with the new title, these are items that are obtainable by the player that will offer up a character to come to his or her aide, when snagged.
Ashley will look so adorable swooping in on her broom and casting a hex on the opponent. “She knows the darkest spells and she brews the meanest potions.” It is pleasing to see Sakurai bring in a character like her.
