Recently at “The SoHo Host-Club;” event “Once upon a time in romance” at “The SoHo Art-house” also know as “S.G.D.A”. Alexandra Honigsberg and Lori Ann informed examiner of the galleries work with digital artist. Lori Ann was visiting our fair city and started to talk about herself and her love of the arts. During the conversation she spoke about how the SoHo Art-House might need more support from the community.
Digital Art from all over the world can be found at your fingertips, this makes it harder to find a physical gallery to display digital art. The landscape of art in small galleries like with “S.G.D.A,” that showcase people likefrom all walks of life. The details of the gallery large space is blessing but could be branch out into even larger venue with support from new yorkers. If you support, great events, spectacular artwork , artist opening and N.Y.C at large for N.Y.C. to stay the cultural mecca it is today, then the “S.G.D.A” is the place for you.
Lori Ann expresses this about the art-house.
It is a commonplace thing in this new world of smart phones and internet, to see places like the Art-house not get the support it truly deserves. S.G.D.A has been the venue for so many of the SOHO Host Club’s events for so long. It has also been a part of the SOHO community for many years. What I love about the art gallery is the quaintness. It’s a small space which creates a certain intimacy when people gather for a showing or an event. The atmosphere is perfect for Socializing and conversation.
People like you must show more support for all forms of art equally, Helping to bring forth a new renaissance in the digital age. Every day art is destroyed, devalued, and overlooked for the less intellectual art forms. Try out workshops and art events before they disappear. Places like Artzeal for the young and trendy, also the “S.G.D.A” for the more intellectual. Look for local plays, over more corporate playhouses. These artist need your support every day to keep them creating.
Alexandra Honigsberg had this to say about her work with the SoHo Host Club in the gallery .
This is not just for otaku…it is a cross-cultural arts group inspired by Japan. We do work with literature, traditional Japanese and other Asian arts, professional 7th Ave. fashion…opera premieres, chamber orchestras…so many things.
Examiner was granted a peak at the Art work. We will be showing you some shots taken from the gallery and one event, please check this article’s photo gallery and the video for a full interview of Danner . We hope you visit the “S.G.D.A” before it closes. The art work at “ The S.G.D.A” in Manhattan should be a landmark for anyone in New York area before January of 2015
