The big hype ever since fall. the goal of the NFL has been leading up to the face-off for the top two teams for the coveted title of Superbowl Champion and the Vince Lombardi trophy. It’s also one of the biggest non-holiday Holidays that Americans observe with a feast.
So you have decided this year to host the Superbowl party at your place. (Hopefully because your favorite is playing) If you live in Colorado you’d be cheering for the home team, Denver Broncos.
Let’s use the Broncos as our basis for great colors to set your party theme. Orange and Blue are the colors we are working with as well as the green field and brown and white football.
Figure out your menu. Are you going to provide all the food or have a potluck, where your guests bring their favorite treat. If you have a potluck you can assign specific types of food to certain people to help keep the menu balanced. Set your theme for finger foods, BBQ, sandwiches, etc. this will help everyone plan accordingly.
To host a BBQ Superbowl party plan your menu:
Buns & Rolls
Cheese & Crackers
Now that you have plan for the menu you determine where you are going to have the food and the people. If you have dueling teams you can have 2 TV’s in different rooms. The dual TV strategy also works if you have die-hard sports enthusiasts and social butterflies planning to attend. This way you can maximize the enjoyment of the game for everyone.
One thing is for sure — everyone will gather around the kitchen pre, during, half-time, and post-game!
When you plan well in advance you’ll have time make the bbq beef, meatballs, and other snacks. If you’d like to take a few short cuts you can pick up take-out BBQ. This will help narrow making everything from scratch. Now you can have time to make the cupcakes and brownies as well as mix the slaw and mix the coleslaw.
Once you have determined what you are making you can concentrate on decorating. With a quick trip to the party store or big box store you can get multi functional items. You’ll need:
- A tablecloth make it table scraped in team color solids!
- Theme plates with footballs, field and stripes or a solid color you can use later.
- Cups in theme or color or clear and use soda like Orange.
- Eating and serving utensils can be everyday stainless to save some money and it is unbreakable, unlike some plastic ware.
- Servings bowls in your team colors for example blue bowls.
- Everyone will wear jerseys and hang your banners and penants!
