Sharon Osbourne is known for her outspoken ways. She’s written three tell-all memoirs, starred in a reality show about her family life (“The Osbournes,” which was on MTV from 2002 to 2005), and she frequently discusses her personal life when she’s on “The Talk,” the CBS chat show that she’s been co-hosting since its 2010 debut. So when is “tell all” considered “too much information”?
While being interviewed on BBC One’s “The Graham Norton Show” in an episode that aired on Nov. 29, 2013, Osbourne was asked what was the most painful plastic surgery that she has gotten. She answered: “Having my vagina tightened. It was just excruciating.” She then joked to Colin Farrell, who was also a guest on the show: “I’ll show you later.”
Osbourne (who is 61) publicly admitted years ago that she’s had multiple plastic surgeries, including procedures on her nose, mouth, cheeks, breasts and stomach (a lap band to lose weight), abdomen (a tummy tuck), arms and legs. She also says she’s had multiple face lifts and she used to get regular Botox and filler treatments for her face. Do we really need to know that she’s also had work done on her vagina? Apparently, she thinks we do need to know.
Sharon Osbourne has been married to rock star Ozzy Osbourne (who is 64) since 1982. She’s been his manager since 1979. They have three kids together: Aimee, Kelly and Jack. Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack starred together in the Emmy-winning show “The Osbournes.” Aimee declined to participate in the show and has been the most private member of Sharon and Ozzy’s brood.
Ozzy has three other kids (Elliot, Jessica and Louis) from his first marriage to ex-wife Thelma. Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly have each spent time in rehab for addiction issues.
While on “The Graham Norton Show,” Osbourne also revealed what she thinks was her biggest mistake in life: “We [Ozzy and I] both worked to continue a lifestyle we had become accustomed to, and we had to travel, so my kids spent quite a lot of time away from us, and you can never get that time back. It was the biggest mistake I ever did. I don’t know how, but Jack and Kelly came out just great.”
In her 2013 memoir “Unbreakable,” Sharon admitted that she asked Ozzy for a divorce after his relapse that he says happened between late 2011 to early 2013.
Sharon and Ozzy made headlines in April 2013, when it was reported that they were living apart and no longer wearing their wedding rings. Ozzy, who is a recovering drug addict/alcoholic, then made a statement on his official Facebook page that he had relapsed from late 2011 to early 2013 but that he had been clean and sober since March 2013.
In the statement, Ozzy made a public apology for relapsing and how he acted during his relapse. He and Sharon both publicly acknowledged that their marriage was going through a rough patch, but they both denied that they’re getting divorced.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne have both talked about their relationship in interviews and their respective memoirs. The couple began dating while he was still married to his first wife, Thelma, who eventually divorced Ozzy. In their memoirs, Sharon and Ozzy each detailed the ups and downs of their relationship, including violent fights with each other, numerous breakups and Ozzy’s arrest in 1989 for trying to strangle Sharon to death. The charges were dropped after Ozzy agreed to go to rehab.
The Osbournes have also had to deal with other health issues besides alcoholism and drug addiction: In 2003, Ozzy was seriously injured in an ATV accident. He was diagnosed with early stages of Parkinson’s disease in 2005. Sharon is a survivor of colon cancer, and she had a double mastectomy in 2012 after she found out that she has a gene that greatly increases her chances of getting breast cancer. Jack was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2012.
By May 2013, Ozzy and Sharon had reconciled and moved back in together. It was also the month that it was officially announced that Sharon replaced fired judge Tulisa Contostavlos on “The X Factor” U.K. The news had been reported by British tabloids several months before it was officially announced. The other judges on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2013 are Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger.
Sharon was a judge on ITV’s “The X Factor” U.K. from 2004 to 2007, and a judge on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” from 2007 to 2012. She has been co-hosting CBS’s Los Angeles-based daytime chat show “The Talk” since the show’s 2010 debut. She announced on “The Talk” that she is not quitting the show, and that she will commute back and forth between the U.K. and the U.S. in order to continue working on “The X Factor” and “The Talk.” Sharon has been saying in interviews that 2013 is her last year as a judge on “The X Factor” U.K., but it remains to be seen if that is really going to be true.
