The “Shahs of Sunset” are back for season three. And leading the charge with her over-the-top glamour is Lilly Ghalichi, who has been dubbed the “Persian Barbie” for her striking beauty and unbelievable figure.
At 5-foot-6 and 98 pounds, Ghalichi credits good genes, a sensible diet, and Pilates workouts for her phenomenal figure.
“Health and fitness is very important to me, and I make it a priority to find time in my schedule to work on it,” Lilly told me in an exclusive interview.
But don’t let her dazzling appearance fool you. Ghalichi, 30, has brains as well as beauty: She is a licensed attorney who has her own successful swimwear line, Have Faith Swimgerie, on top of a burgeoning reality TV career.
In our interview, Lilly revealed her diet and workout secrets and how she stays centered while juggling a busy work schedule and her budding fame.
Question: What is your workout routine, and how often do you work out?
First off, let me say that I am very lucky in that I am genetically blessed in this department. God gives us each something great — maybe beautiful eyes, great lips, gorgeous hair — whatever it may be. I definitely got skinny genes! Being naturally thin is a great help in staying fit. I know how much of a struggle it is for those that have to work twice as hard due to genetics, and I respect their hustle.
With that said, I do work out about three times a week. I am NOT a gym person, I can’t just go to the gym and work out on my own. I need my workouts to be fun and stimulating.
For my workouts, I like to do group Pilates classes, group spin classes, go for hikes, or train with a personal trainer. Pilates is a great way to build long lean muscles, spin is a fun way to get your cardio in, and training with a trainer is obviously the best way to kick your butt into shape.”
Q: Do you follow a special diet?
Diet is my one weakness. I can’t do it. I’ve tried to drop sugar. I’ve tried to quit eating certain carbs or fried foods, it’s so hard! I’ll have to go back to thanking genetics for this one. I pretty much eat whatever I want.
With that said, diet is the No. 1 factor in how my body looks. If it eat poorly, it shows, and if I eat clean, it shows as well. When I have a big shoot coming up, or something I need to look my best for, I do try to be a bit stricter with my diet. This includes lowering my sugar intake, cutting my salt intake, and trying to avoid carbs after 8 pm.”
Q: You’re an attorney and businesswoman on top of being a TV star. How do you juggle your hectic work schedule and fame while maintaining your peace of mind?
It’s really hard, and the simple answer is I’m still trying to figure it all out. Life is all about balance. Yes, it’s great to be successful, work hard, and reap the benefits of your work, but happiness in life is not determined by dollar signs.
The real treasures in life can’t be valued with money. They include love, companionship, family, friends, laughter. I try to balance things to make both work and my family and friends a priority, and I’m finally at a place in my life where I’m ready for love.
To-do lists are a simple secret of mine. Making a simple to-do list every morning can help keep your day on track, and allow you to prioritize things. Get the essentials crossed off, and if things are left on the list that can wait, push them to tomorrow so you can enjoy an afternoon with someone you love instead.”
The “Shahs of Sunset” airs Tuesdays on Bravo.
