Many stars have become victims of the social media death hoax, and have to the relief of fans, friends, and family have been able to prove the fake death stories false.

Rumors spread quickly on Facebook and Twitter Saturday evening with TMZ being the first to report the death of the actor and then shutting their site down after rumors were being spread that it was a hoax and he was alive and well.
As many wondered what the truth was and hoped that it was just a hoax, Paul’s rep Ame Van Iden confirmed what many had prayed was not true and issued this statement;
“Sadly I must confirm that Paul did pass away today in a car accident. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives.”
They were attending a charity event for his organization Reach Out Worldwide.
His rep had issued a statement he was alive and well just this morning regarding the hoax that started yesterday.
His twitter page then posted;

The pair were driving a red Porsche when the vehicle left the road and crashed into a light pole and a tree and exploded into flames. Paul was a passenger.
Both were declared dead at the scene.
A friend of Paul’s; Antonio Holmes, said this according to heavy.com;
Him and his buddy, his brother in arms at heart just decided to joyride, take a spin. Something we all do. We’re all car enthusiasts. … We’re all here driving, enjoying each other, and God must’ve needed help. We all heard from our location (the accident). It’s a little difficult to know what it was. Someone called it in and said it was a vehicle fire … We all ran around and jumped in cars and grabbed fire extinguishers and immediately went to the vehicle. It was engulfed in flames. There was nothing. They were trapped. Employees, friends of the shop. We tried. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers”
