Fincastle – Dec. 5-7 – Attic Productions Presents It’s a Wonderful Life – Attic Productions presents It’s a Wonderful Life, adapted by James W. Rodgers (Drama).
Staunton – Dec. 4, 7, 12, 14, 20, 22-23, 27 – The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Ginna Hoben – What happens when Mary sees her fiancé making out with his co-worker on national TV at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? She dumps him and drops her engagement ring into a Salvation Army kettle. She then spends the next year being set up, hooked up, strung up, and fed up as she navigates her life “alone” as a New York actor in her thirties—Sex and the City for real people, with no Mr. Big in sight.
Buena Vista – Dec. 6-8, 13-15 – Night of Miracles Living Nativity – Night of Miracles Living Nativity featuring the creative talents of Mark Cline.
Monterey – Dec. 6-8 – Wintertide – Wintertide Weekend offers visitors an old-fashioned Christmas experience in a rural, mountain setting. Gift shops and antique stores extend their shopping hours to include evenings and Sunday. A variety of handcrafted gift items, baked goods and maple products are available at the Holiday Treasures Market & Open House in The Highland Center. A tree-lighting service on the Courthouse lawn is followed by the Pendleton County Community Choir in concert.
New Market – Dec. 7 – Christmas on the Farm – Christmas traditions! How much have they changed in the last 150 years. Join us for Christmas on the Farm and learn how families celebrated this wonderful holiday. Visit with soldiers, far from home for the holidays. Make ornaments for your Christmas tree, explore the foods of 19th century Christmases, play games, listen to music, hear stories and enjoy a visit from a very special Christmas guest!
Grottoes – Dec. 14 – Caroling in the Caverns – Candlelight tours and musical performances will be in Solomon’s Temple, the Armory, and Ballroom. Light refreshments will be provided. Make this holiday season special with the rare oportunity to experience musical perfomances and candlelight tour of Grand Caverns, America’s Oldest Showcave and a National Natural Landmark!
Roanoke – Dec. 14-15 – The Nutcracker presented by the Southwest Virginia Ballet – It is the night before Christmas, a night filled with dreams and wishes of children. For a girl named Clara, it will be a night in which her dreams come true. Join Clara and her prince as The Southwest Virginia Ballet presents their annual production of The Nutcracker.
