Morning temperatures around Chesapeake Bay range from the low to mid 20s inland to the mid and upper 20s closer to the shore. Readings are a bit milder in southern Maryland down to Norfolk, VA with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s. Today we will continue to be under the influence of high pressure that will continue to provide the area with ample sunshine and temperatures cooler than average. Highs for the end of November should be in the lower 50s, but highs today will only climb into the lower 40s. An an upper-air trough will bring some cloudiness to the region from Saturday evening afternoon through Sunday evening. High pressure moving offshore will result in a moist flow from the ocean, and this will enhance the cloud cover over the region. By Monday, a relatively weak area of low pressure is expected to move to the Norfolk area and may produce some light precipitation across the southern bay during the day. As the low exits the region on Tuesday, sunshine and seasonable temperatures return to the Chesapeake.
On the Maryland portion of Chesapeake Bay, there are no advisories in effect for today. Winds on Saturday will come out of the southeast at 10 to 15 with waves from 1 to 2 feet.
