Frostville Museum is a living history of 19th century Ohio in our own back yard. The museum is open from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm every Saturday and for special events.
The museum consists of eight buildings: the Prechtel House (which is the only home original to this site), Jenkins’s Cabin, the Briggs’ House, the Carpenter House, the Gifford General Store, the Wensink Display Barn, the Events Barn (while the Events Barn has a kitchen, the space is not available for rentals), the Frostville Village Church (formerly the Barton Road Church) and the Stearns Carriage House which is now the restroom facility.
The Olmsted Historical Society, which manages Frostville Museum, has over 100 members contributing time, labor and craftsmanship. With the help of the volunteers, they maintain the buildings, the grounds and even the restoration of the buildings. During planned events, many members dress in period attire giving the feel of the 1800’s.
Tours for schools, scouts and other organized groups are available by reservation any day of the week from May through October. The Frostville Village Church is available to rent for weddings. Contact Cindy Lentz at 440.476.5552 for contract information or by email at: Frostvillecindy@gmail.com.
