While at CosmoProf purchasing my TIGI After Party, I was introduced to the brand new BLOW-OUT, a new TIGI Bed Head shine cream. With how much I love AfterParty I thought, why not?! The sales rep touted it as being better than my beloved After Party, so, I purchased it.
Upon getting BLOW-OUT the new TIGI Bed Head shine cream home I excitedly pumped the product into my hand. My immediate reaction was, EWWWWW!!! Needless to say, the content of the bottle wasn’t at all what I expected. It is a gross orange brown color with tons of glitter. GLITTER! I’m not a glitter girl. I applied it anyway, knowing that I could at least review it to see if it would work for people who aren’t me, and return it.
Here is the deal. The scent isn’t the best, it’s not quite awful but it’s also not exactly enjoyable, though the scent also doesn’t linger, which is a plus. However, not having a stellar scent was disappointing, especially since most other TIGI products have a fragrance that make their competitors quiver in the TIGI hair fragrance shadow.
Back to the glitter. It has glitter. If you don’t like tiny specks of glitter getting on things, including, well, everything, or you don’t have a place to wash your hands after application, then you should pass on this product.
Upon using BLOW-OUT, the new TIGI Bed Head shine cream, in multiple situations I have to admit, that though my first impression of the product was that it was not going to work for me, I found that it does help my blond hair look shiny and healthy on bad hair days.
Another plus is if you don’t have a chance to get your roots done this product helps to mask it, when applied directly to the roots and then smoothed, or brushed down to the tips, it reflects light off your hair so that discolored roots are not as noticeable.
BLOW-OUT the new TIGI Bed Head shine cream is not a product that I would use every day. It is a product that I will keep in my arsenal for emergencies. If you can stand some glitter once in a while, or love glitter, and need added shine or to hide roots, I’d suggest giving this a try.
The glitter does transfer onto things, your significant other included, but it’s not as bad as glitter lotion, or other princess glitter child-adult type products. Just wash your hands and DO NOT apply liberally.
Side note, they now promote it as being glittery, when the product first launched it was not promoted that way, so kudos to the marketing people to get on that.
Product info from the website: “High shine styling cream with golden sheen to tame flyaways and combat frizz for a smooth finish. Brings golden shine and glitter to the hair – perfect for brunettes and red heads.” – I should add that it’s good for blonds too.
You can find BLOW-OUT the new TIGI Bed Head shine cream at Ulta as well as other authorized retailers that allow returns, incase this product isn’t for you.
